Yota Brandon came by and helped me get the motor to fire. Figured out how to get the tach to work and where the AIDC connector is to time the engine so here we go. Changed out the alternator for the gm one wire setup which is actually three wires. It works and is charging I just need to swap the hot wire over to the on/off not comp hot all the time or the engine won't stop running. Took the driveshafts to drive line services in pittsburg never again after 300 dollars for two retubes. Need a radiator thats as easy as a call to 1800radiators and the odd and ends pieces have been ordered for the coilovers and JJ's. Master cylinder is in and I'm waiting for the prop valve to come in. I will be running hard lines I twisted up myself to the front and back on the frame and it will drop down and tee on each axle. Any help is appreciated. Lots of plumbing crap like stereo, cb, and rock lights install.

Got the driveshafts on and they fit with the links. Len came by and spent a whole day plumbing wiring like cb, stereo, speakers, and of course the unecessary bazooka bass tube. Need to load up the thing and start to tune the coilovers and airshocks. Lots of progress

Proof that a big man can get in the vehicle right here. I have not been able to make the vehicle side to side too much but when Len got in it showed me how much weight can affect air shocks and coilovers. So I called Poly Performance and ordered a new set of upper springs. I was 200lb lowers and 80lb uppers. I went to a 175lb upper this time and can switch it out if necessary with them as I'm testing it. I went to a stiffer rate as it will side hill better and be able to handle the demands of Dave or Len sitting in the passenger side. But nothing says f@$# you like a big man sitting next to you after all........see!

kind of a dark pic but one of the issues with running an offset tcase with a centered diff is the angle the driveshaft has to deal with so here is the angle not bad since the beast is so long. Plus the front clears but not enough for a high pinion front diff and locker.
bootyfab tranny cooler install OMG
Firebird master cylinder designed for disc brakes with a 1" bore. Thats a bigger bore than the sammy but not so ridiculous that is over powers the toy calipers

Took it out to prairie city yesterday. I forgot the camera but Len emailed me a few pics. Apparently there is video and more pics but this is all I have. I still have some issues to work out with the header and steering box but it does real well on the rocks and I was very proud of what I built no matter how ugly it is

Alright an update of the build. I cut the frenched part of the front frame out and ran a tapped fj60 box like I planned originally. Here's a bunch of pics of the inside of the box and a diagram for anyone interested

I had problems finding seals for the fj60 box so I got a ifs seal kit from auto zone and sure enough a lot of the seals were the same. I am 120" wb and weigh in over my target at 2950lbs. We took it to cisco grove campground and had a blast until the power steering pump pulley came off into some muddy water. Either way it climbs like a champ and was really fun to drive. I was a little surprised to see that bumper to bumper its the same length as my jeep just with a longer wb. Here's some pics of tammy and the camper me and momma got to stay in while we camp. Sure was nice to get a hot shower a poop and a sleep with a heater and a bed. A/C sure didn't hurt during the day or the fridge.
